THERESA RUSH, MD
Dr. Rush received her Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Chemistry and a double minor in Zoology and Music from Howard University in Washington DC in the year 1985. She commenced medical training at the University of Buffalo and was awarded a degree in medicine in 1989.
Dr. Rush received her specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York in Buffalo, New York. Her particular interests since graduation from residency have been in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She has furthered her training obtaining certification in Robotic surgery. She has been in private practice in Buffalo, New York since 1994. Dr. Rush is married to her husband, Blaine and they reside in the Buffalo area. Non-medical interests include: Music- She has played the flute since grade school and enjoys an eclectic mix of music.
KATHY MAUER, BSN, RN
VP PATIENT SERVICES
Kathy has over 30 years of Prenatal and Perinatal nursing care, and has served as CompassCare’s lead nurse since 2012. She also serves as the health director of an area summer camp. Kathy earned her nursing degree from Roberts Wesleyan College in 1984. In addition to her nursing experience, Kathy is an MBTI certified practitioner. Kathy says, “I also enjoy team & leadership development, reading, traveling and spending time with family.”
MARGARET CAPPELLO, BSN, RN, MDIV
NURSE TEAM LEADER, BUFFALO
Margaret brings over 25 years of nursing experience in Visiting Nurse Service and clinical education to CompassCare. She earned a BA in Physical Therapy from Skidmore College, an associate’s degree in Nursing from Monroe Community College, a BSN from the University of Rochester, and a Masters of Divinity from Northeastern Seminary. Margaret was recently promoted to Nurse Team Leader in our Buffalo office. In addition to her work at CompassCare, Margaret co-pastors Nash Road Church in North Tonawanda, NY. Margaret says she loves to read, “especially outside by the Niagara River on a nice day.” Margaret enjoys walking her dog and hiking, and has recently taken up yoga.
TONYA PREVIGLIAN, MSN, RN, CRNA
STAFF NURSE, BUFFALO
Tonya has worked as a nurse since 1988. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alfred University, and a Masters of Nursing degree from the University of Buffalo. Tonya received her nurse anesthetist certification in 1997, and has worked as a CRNA since then. She has five years of Prenatal and Perinatal nursing care experience. When she’s not at work, Tonya enjoys travelling, reading, skiing and biking. Tonya says, “If I could, I would spend all of my time outside.”
JOANNE E. CZORA, ASN, RN

Joanne has ten years of nursing experience after earning her associate’s degree in nursing from Erie County Community College. In addition to her work at CompassCare, Joanne runs her own small businesses in Home Health and Horticulture. She describes herself as “passionate about Functional Medicine, my kids, and exploring waterways by hiking, biking and kayaking.”
LAURA BAYLEY, BSN, MS, CNM

Laura received a BSN from Adelphi University in 1984. She then received her license as both a Professional Registered Nurse and a Midwife in NY. In 1996, Laura received her Master of Science in Midwifery from SUNY StonyBrook. Certified as Nurse-Midwife through the American Midwifery Certification Board, she moved to Tennessee and practiced in a freestanding birth center and a hospital for the next 20 years. Laura worked as a site visitor for accreditation of birth centers under the American Associate of Birth Centers for five years. She has also been member of the American College of Nurse Midwives since 1996, and is an honoree of the 2011 Tribute to Women Equality for the Knoxville YWCA. Laura moved back to western NY in 2019, and enjoys active lifestyle hiking, biking, and skiing.
MARY E. BORON, RN, BSN
STAFF NURSE, BUFFALO
Mary is honored to serve as a nurse helping pregnant women in challenging situations. Since earning her BSN from D’Youville College, Mary served for 14 years working with women experiencing high-risk pregnancies. In addition, Mary has 13 years of experience in hematology, oncology, and pediatric nursing as well as 10 years in family medicine. Spending time outdoors is one of the things Mary enjoys most. She also likes a good book and positively loves being with her grandchildren.
